White supremacists invading the Capitol.
Record-breaking floods, killer heat waves.
Mass extinction, ocean acidification.
I’m not sure I want to know what is coming next.
My eyes cleave to the rearview mirror.
Then I remember: the past was a shit circus too.
Only I wasn’t paying attention.
