today while walking
I saw the daylit moon
hanging
over a willow bush
and wished I could climb
from one to the other,
knot a rope
noose myself —
jump.
the way I imagine it:
neck
would separate jaggedly
from shoulders.
body
would thud heavily
to earth.
my blithely dripping head
my stump of
neck
would
dangle languidly
would
sway gently,
content finally
to ignore the stars
to ignor…
